Review: Joomla 3.2

According to its announcement, Joomla 3.2 was the largest Joomla release so far: version control for content, two-step login and installing extensions straight from the directory. For this review we installed Joomla 3.2.7 of 1 October 2014, the last version of this line, and photographed it.

What was new in Joomla 3.2

According to the Joomla 3.2 announcement:

  • Content version control: view and restore earlier versions.
  • Strong passwords and two-step login (two-factor authentication).
  • "Install from Web": install extensions from the Joomla Extensions Directory with one click.
  • Easy multilingual setup for 64 official languages.
  • An improved Template Manager, HTML5 form fields, microdata and site configuration in the frontend.
  • TinyMCE 4 and a rapid application development framework (RAD).

How we did it: Joomla 3.2.7 in the original package from downloads.joomla.org, locally in Docker with PHP 5.6 and MySQL 5.5, reachable only on our own machine, files unchanged, with the "Learn Joomla" sample data. PHP error display is switched off so that notices about outdated functions do not cover the pictures.
