Falang translates every page again on every request by rewriting the database queries afterwards. That costs time and turns updates of Joomla and extensions into a risk.

We take over your existing translations into Joomla's own language versions: articles, categories, menus, modules, custom fields and YOOtheme layouts. Addresses and own domains per language stay, old links are redirected. It is based on our extension newtastic Languages.

Will my translations be kept?
Yes. We take over all published Falang translations into language versions of articles, categories, menus and modules.
Will the addresses of my pages change?
No. The addresses stay the same, and so do own domains per language. Where something changes, we redirect the old addresses.
How long will the website be offline?
We rehearse the switch on a copy first. Live, it usually takes less than an hour; nobody should edit content during that time.
Can the switch be undone?
Yes. We back everything up before the switch, and newtastic Languages can take a takeover back completely.
Do I still need Falang after the switch?
No. Once you have approved the result, we remove Falang. Your translations are then regular Joomla content that you edit like any other article.
