Our new Joomla reference
Heidelberg Pharma AG from Heidelberg

Heidelberg Pharma develops novel medicines for cancer treatment based on its own ADC technologies. Its website speaks to experts, partners, the press and investors: pipeline and publications, mandatory announcements, financial reports and corporate governance – in German and English.
Over the years the site had grown a lot. Content was spread across Joomla articles, K2 items and modules, and even setting up a new reporting year was a laborious, complicated job. For many changes the team needed outside help.
Taking stock for our offer, quite a lot came together:
Plus around 170 Joomla articles, 22 categories in two systems, three additional components and seven additional modules. Many menu items only existed because the old technology demanded them.
Approximate figures from our offer of October 2021.

Instead of rebuilding piece by piece, we set up the website afresh and took over only content and pictures. The goal: every page on the site is edited in exactly one place in the backend – no longer spread across articles, K2 items and modules.
K2 is gone completely. The number of modules, menu items and articles has dropped considerably, without content or presentation suffering. The input forms are reduced to what is needed, and the reports have automations so that a new year no longer needs a laborious setup.
German and English are linked: switching the language keeps you on the same page. A translation needs one article and at most one menu item.
From one high-resolution picture the site creates smaller versions for each device class itself – sharp on a retina display, small on a phone.
Fewer additional extensions mean more security, less maintenance and less need for outside service providers.
The appearance stayed as far as possible – with a more consistent presentation on every device.
The navigation follows the people who visit the site: company, research & development with portfolio and ADC technology, partnering, and press & investors with releases, financial reports and dates. The new site went online in January 2023.
The website still runs on this foundation – now with the current YOOtheme Pro 5. New sections can be added without rebuilding the existing system.
A nested site the team often needed help with has become a tidy bilingual website that takes far less work to maintain.
