The best content achieves little if Google cannot reach it. Typical causes in Joomla are duplicate addresses for the same page, accidental blocks for search engines, chains of redirects after a relaunch, or old pages that now only show a 404 error.

We check how Google crawls your website and which pages make it into the index, the register from which Google draws its results. We look at search engine friendly URLs, robots.txt, the sitemap, canonical addresses (the one valid address per page) and structured data. For the review we use newtastic Site Audit among other tools, and newtastic Redirects for redirects and 404 errors.

You receive a list of issues sorted by urgency and, if you wish, we fix them directly in Joomla. Afterwards Google knows the right address for every page, and your visitors no longer end up on dead pages.

How does this differ from on-page optimisation?
Technical SEO makes sure Google can crawl your pages and file them correctly. On-page optimisation then improves what is on the pages: titles, copy and headings.
What are search engine friendly URLs?
They are readable addresses such as /services/consulting instead of long strings with numbers. Joomla has the setting built in; we check that it is switched on and that index.php disappears from the address.
What happens to old addresses after a relaunch?
Addresses stay the same wherever possible. Where an address changes, we set up a permanent redirect (301) to the new page so that visitors and Google can still find it.
What is structured data?
Structured data describes content in a form search engines can read directly, such as your organisation, events or articles. Joomla has included its own plugins for this since version 5; we check which details make sense on your pages.
Does a multilingual website make a difference?
Yes. Each language version needs its own address, and the versions have to be linked to each other so that Google shows the right language. With newtastic Languages we build multilingual sites with Joomla's own tools, with a separate domain per language if you wish.
