Joomla migration

Joomla safely to version 6 – rehearsed on a copy, compared and accepted

Joomla migration

So your website stays secure

Joomla 3 and Joomla 4 no longer receive security updates. Every vulnerability that becomes known today stays open on these websites – and many older extensions no longer run on new PHP versions.

We bring your website to Joomla 6. First we check the version, extensions, template and database. Then we rehearse the switch on a copy, compare the pages before and after the update and only switch over after your acceptance. We make sure that content and addresses are kept.

From Joomla 4 or 5 this is usually an upgrade in a few steps. From Joomla 3 it is a migration in which we check every extension and bring the template up to date.

  • Security updates and support for the coming years.
  • A rehearsal on a copy before the real website is switched.
  • A comparison of the pages before and after the update as acceptance.
  • Content and addresses are kept, old links are redirected.
Positive
Your website receives security updates again and runs on current PHP.
Negative
Without a migration, known vulnerabilities stay open, and every new PHP version can bring the site down.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions
Which Joomla versions can you migrate from?
From Joomla 3, 4 and 5. From Joomla 4 and 5 it is usually an upgrade in a few steps, from Joomla 3 a migration in which we check every extension.
What does a migration cost?
It mainly depends on the starting version and the extensions. After a short look at your website, we tell you the price before we start.
Is my website offline during the migration?
No. We work on a copy. Your website stays online until the new version has been accepted; the switch itself usually takes only a short time.
What happens to my extensions?
We check every extension. If there is a version for Joomla 6, we update it. If there is none, we suggest a replacement or rebuild the function.
Do my addresses stay on Google?
The addresses stay wherever possible. If an address has to change, we redirect the old one so visitors and search engines arrive.
What comes after the migration?
To keep your website up to date, we recommend a maintenance contract: updates, backups and security checks then run regularly.
