The wait is over - Joomla! CMS 3.3 Stable is here
Finally Joomla! 3.3.0 was released, making it the fastest, most stable and most secure Joomla! version at all. For users who already use Joomla 3.2, an upgrade should be possible. For Joomla 2.5 users, now is almost the best time to think about switching, as support for Joomla 2.5 will expire at the end of the year.
Joomla 3.3 - Time for a change
At the end of April, Joomla 3.3 was released, making it the most stable, secure, comprehensive and fastest Joomla version ever. My customers who have ordered a Joomla 3 website from me in the last 12 months can already benefit from Joomla 3.3 by simply updating to the latest version. I would like to inform everyone else with this text and encourage them to also benefit from the advantages of the Joomla 3 series.
You have these advantages if you switch to Joomla 3 now!
A lot of things are simple in the Joomla 3 series. You can update Joomla itself, languages and many extensions from the backend. Thanks to the new web catalog, you can even install and use extensions directly from Joomla. From now on there is no longer any need for annoying searching. The backend has been completely redeveloped and is overall more modern and clearer. In addition, you can now use Joomla in the backend with mobile devices such as the iPad or iPhone. In addition, a lot has been done for security, such as two-factor authentication or even more strongly encrypted passwords. Even though the speed has been worked on, Joomla has become faster for complex websites. Then there is the further improved code base, the drag and drop sorting for articles, categories and modules, better multilingual website support, keywords, better options for SEO thanks to the MicroData implementation, a possibility for notes, Captcha implementation SPAM and many minor improvements. To understand the amount of changes one must visualize the following number. Joomla 3 Series was released about 20 months ago and since then more than 1000 changes/improvements have been programmed.
Why should I change now?
Joomla has completely changed the development strategy and everything I have told you so far is not true. The current situation is as follows.

Joomla 3.3 becomes more secure...
Stability and security are the two most important criteria these days for a website you want to do business with. Joomla 3.3 delivers both as it becomes the most stable Joomla around and is one of the most secure or the most secure CMS on the planet.
The Joomla 3.x series has received a number of improvements to increase security. This includes double authentication and the improved “Remember Me” plugin. Increasing the system requirements to PHP 5.3.10 and stronger and better encryption of passwords also bring more security.
All of these improvements will make Joomla an even better CMS and should make your transition to Joomla 3.x easier.
Joomla 3.3 is getting faster...
We website owners can never get enough of speed and the release of Joomla 3.3 delivers exactly that.
We have been working on a complete renewal of the JRouter function for some time. The JRouter is like a traffic policeman for Joomla and regulates the URL's etc. Joomla 3.3 contains the first implementation of the new router. Tests have shown that a 10% speed increase and over 2.5 seconds faster loading times are possible. This is a huge leap forward and best of all it doesn't cost a cent!
In addition, with Joomla 3.3 there is even less use of mootools and more use of jQuery. So you might be able to do without mootools completely in the future. This should make the websites even faster and conflicts with different JavaScript libraries should be a thing of the past.
